The challenge
Each year retail giant B&M produces a Christmas event to prepare it’s store teams for their busiest season of the year. The event had to really deliver creatively and engage over 800 people, getting them ready and excited about the festive season, in September. More than a showcase, this event incorporates a supplier exhibition allowing colleagues to view and order some of the season’s predicted ‘star buys’.

The solution
From concept to delivery, our teams worked tirelessly to ensure that our creative did more than simply look good, and for this event ‘Go Big on Christmas’ worked on multiple levels. It acted as a rallying cry for store managers to take back in store and encourage their teams to deliver. We were able to centre the business messages around our theme; go big on sales, go big on product and go big on customer service. It also gave us a clear directive on how to dress the venue and create an immersive setting in an otherwise sterile environment.
The experience
Delegate feedback was overwhelmingly positive and the subsequent trading results achieved demonstrated that colleagues really did deliver BIG on Christmas, with a 12.1% increase in like-for-like sales.
